Thor Hushovd forteller: Brøyt etter 85km i dag. Helt tom, føler kroppen ikke fungerer. Må ta prat m støtteapparatet på laget, for å ta en skikkelig sjekk. Noe som ikke er som det skal!
Thor Hushovd after he left Giro dItalia: After 85km I quit the race today. Completely empty, feel that my body does not work. Must talk with the supportteam in BMC and take a proper check. Something is not as it should be!

Fin flat etp, men med noen små bakker mot slutten. Datt av opp der gitt, følte meg helt slått ut av varmen. Trenger normalt et par dager å komme igang når d blir varmt. Satser på det var det :)

Nice flat stage, with some small hills at the end. Did not mange to follow up the hills, I felt completely knocked out of the heat. Normally need a couple days to get it going when is is so hot. I belive it was the heat :)

Hard lagtempo i en teknisk løype, kjørte sterkt fra start, stivnet til litt mot slutten. Tok ei lang hard føring, før jeg datt av, valgte å ofre meg. For langt opp til Garmin, og nesten-velt for Phinney hvor vi tapte tid, derfor røyk trøya. Ble 7 på etp.

Hard team pursuit in a technical trail, started strong from start, stiffened a little at the end. Took a long and hard lead role and chose to sacrifice myself. Too far to Garmin, and the near-chrash for Phinney is the reason that we lost time and the pink jersey. Result is 7 in the 4 stage.

Fort hele dagen, og 3 runder på slutten, hvor det var kaos. Ble ikke bedre i spurten, med stygg velt. Satt bra plassert, men litt passiv med alt kaoset rundt. Bare glad jeg kom meg hel til mål, selv om 6. var ok.

Fast all day, with 3 rounds at the end, where there was chaos also in the sprint, with nasty crash. I was well placed, but a little passive with all the chaos around me. Glad I was not in the crash and think tat 6 place was ok.

"Ekstrem nervøs etappe, grunnet endel vind, til slutt samlet spurt. Dro til ca 300m fra mål, alt eller ingenting. Venter jeg på Cav er jeg slått, ville prøve. Bedre følelse, godt tegn for neste dagene."
